The City of Laconia owns the land the dog park is built on. The 501(c)3 nonprofit, entirely volunteer-based organization, Happy Tails Dog Park of the Lakes Region, manages the off-leash dog park for the city of Laconia. The park is funded solely through donations. We are forever grateful that a large donation for construction was made as a tribute to the Lezama Family, who owned Las Piñatas Mexican Restaurant in downtown Laconia for many years.
The dog park is located on 2 acres of a 25-acre parcel between Spruce Street and Growtth Road, with access at the end of Growtth Road, off Hounsell Ave. in the Lakes Region Business Park.
With three designated fenced dog enclosures (large, small, and puppies), dogs can run freely and make new friends. The size designations are suggestions and can be adapted based on the dogs present ~ Please keep an eye on your pup at all times to ensure responsible play.
Our off-leash dog park is for use by anyone, free of charge - you don't have to be a resident of Laconia. However, park users are responsible for adhering to the park's rules and must read them before entering. The rules are posted at the park and can also be found in the Rules tab above. We strive to keep the dog park a clean, safe, and functional facility for everyone, and we need your cooperation. Thus, parkgoers are required to pick up their dog's waste. Several waste stations containing small bags for collection and disposal are conveniently accessible in the park's enclosures. Donations to keep the park running are greatly appreciated.
