The City of Laconia owns the land the dog park is built on. The 501(c)3 non-profit group Happy Tails Dog Park of the Lakes Region manages the dog park for the city. We are forever grateful that we received donated money for construction of the park as a tribute to the Lezama Family, who owned a restaurant in downtown Laconia for many years.
The off-leash park land is located on 2 acres of a 25 acre parcel between Spruce Street and Growtth Road, with access at the end of Growtth Road, which is located off Hounsell Avenue in the Lakes Region Business Park.
There are three fenced dog enclosures where dogs can run free: Large Dogs, Small Dogs, and Puppies.
Our dog park is for use by anyone, free of charge - you don't have to be a resident of Laconia. Our hope is that the dog park will be loads of fun and we've attempted to make it a safe place for everyone. It will only work if all pitch in and do what they can to keep the park clean, safe and usable.
